A dog survived an explosion that leveled a house in Cattaraugus County.

It happened Monday morning on West Branch Road in Allegany.

No one was home at the time, except for the family dog.

The 13-year-old Boston Terrier named Hemi was found alive under the debris.

"I was worried about my dog — this stuff could all be replaced. After a half-hour search they found my dog alive so after that everything's OK, but we can replace everything,” said homeowner Ronald Volz.

State Police say the cause of the explosion is under investigation, but it's believed to be a gas leak.
