Buffalo police confirm July death was a homicide

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Buffalo police have confirmed that a man who died last month was the result of a homicide.

Leon Nelson's body was found on May Street July 31.

The exact cause of death has not been released.

And police have also identified a man gunned down Sunday on the city's East Side.

Police say 27-year-old Edward Wright was shot in a drive-by shooting Sunday on Victoria Avenue near Fillmore Avenue.

It's not clear if any arrests have been made in the case.
