BATAVIA, N.Y. — A 6-year-old girl who was run over by a truck in Batavia Monday afternoon is at Strong Hospital in serious, but stable condition.
The Batavia Police Department says it was called to Otis Street just before 4 p.m. Police say a driver was disconnecting from a trailer when he pulled forward and hit the child. She was conscious and speaking when officers arrived and later taken to Mercy Flight, where she was airlifted to Rochester.
Police say neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be factors and charges are not expected.
