The Niagara County Sheriff's Office is investigating the discovery of a woman's body in the lower Niagara River on Saturday.

The body an unknown deceased female was reported just before 1:30 p.m. near Lower River Road in Youngstown. The body was brought ashore at Coast Guard Station Niagara by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office Marine Patrol Unit and the United States Coast Guard.

The Niagara County Sheriff's Criminal Investigative Bureau responded and is investigating.
