BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Gov. Andrew Cuomo had the same message Wednesday in Buffalo, just a different setting. He toured the city's waterfront on a two-hour boat ride, and the city and shoreline seemed to the camera's eye to rotate behind him as he spoke.

Other state and local dignitaries came along and took turns as tour guides, pointing out both recently-completed projects and ones in the pipeline.

While giving credit to local leaders like Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown and Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz, Cuomo noted his administration's willingness to invest across upstate New York when other governors hadn't, leading to both public and private progress along the waterfront.

The governor's office made several more economic development announcements along the tour, including a $53 million investment from high-tech engineering company Moog and a $2 million request for proposals for more development at the Buffalo tourist attraction Canalside.

"Buffalo is now a national comeback city," said Cuomo, D-New York. "It's unbelievable. We have to keep it going. Don't lean back. Don't rest on your laurels. We have to keep it going."

Cuomo did not take questions from the media following the tour.
