The Erie County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of an inmate at the Holding Center in downtown Buffalo.
Sheriff’s deputies say they found the inmate unresponsive in their cell a little before 5:30 a.m. Saturday.
The Sheriff’s office says a medical team conducted CPR until EMS personnel arrived. They believe the inmate died sometime overnight.
The Erie County Medical Examiner’s Office is also investigating.
The Sheriff’s office says it’s filing reports on the inmate’s death with the State Commission on Corrections and the Department of Justice.
