IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. -- Irondequoit police say a toddler was found wandering alone in the area of Carter Street and Route 104 early Saturday morning when a passing driver saw him and drove him to a nearby gas station to call police.
Irondequoit police tell Spectrum News that Child Protective Services are assisting with the case.
According to police, the child wandered about a quarter of a mile from where he was staying.
Authorities in Irondequoit say they were called to a Speedway gas station on East Ridge road just after 1 a.m. after a driver saw the child walking and brought him there.
Officers say the child did not know where lived.
According to police, a family member of the toddler called police to report the child missing around 6:30 a.m.
The investigation is ongoing.
