Monday marks Dyngus Day, a traditional Polish holiday to celebrate the end of the Lenten season and the beginning of spring.

The big party will kick off with the parade along Broadway and Filmore in the Polonia district at 5 p.m.

Expect lots of music, dancing and, of course, krunpik, a liqueur made with honey, spices, citrus and vodka.

Curious about krupnik? Here's how to make your own:

1 cup water

¼ cup sugar

1 tbs allspice

1 tbs cloves

1 tbs vanilla bean

¼ orange rind

Black pepper

Cinnamon stick

Vanilla

Orange rinds

Combine all the above ingredients in a pot and boil them together for about 15 minutes. Stir in honey to taste. Strain concoction and combine with vodka. Enjoy warm or cold.
