CHEMUNG, N.Y. -- Republican Congressman Tom Reed is discussing the impact the recently signed tax reform legislation will have on the manufacturing industry.

He hosted an employee town hall Tuesday at Nucor Steel in the town of Chemung. Reed and representatives say the new plan will allow companies to hire more workers and further invest in their communities.

He also called for a shift in education, encouraging more students to enter manufacturing fields.

Nucor's executive vice president called the legislation a game changer. The company employs about 300 people in the town of Chemung, with plans to expand in the near future.
