BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Amber Small, who's running for state Senate seat in New York's 60th District, says many area parks and landmarks are polluted with waste overflow from aging pipes.

At Delaware Park on Monday, Small talked about her "Cutting the Crap - Out of Our Water Plan."

Small wants an amendment to state law that would require a regular analysis on sewer infrastructure. She also says local municipalities need additional funding to help protect resident's drinking water.

"Over a 25-month period, the DEC measured that 57 million gallons of sewage was dumped right into our local waterways," alleged Small, who is also Parkside Community Association executive director.

We've reached out to Republican challenger Chris Jacobs' campaign for comment, but did not immediately hear back.
