CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. -- Two pieces of evidence were left behind by a hit-and-run driver, according to police in Cheektowaga investigating a deadly crash last week on Genesee Street.

The first is visual, a still from surveillance video of the car believed involved. Police believe the vehicle is gray-colored and should have damage to the front end. Also found was a car part, made of plastic and is about 3/4 of an inch long. Investigators believe it could be a part from the grill or front end of the vehicle.

Robert Prigl of Depew was hit just before 5 a.m. while trying to cross the wide street, adjacent to the airport. He was 55 years old.
