DUNKIRK, N.Y. -- A Dunkirk man was shot dead on Thursday, and the woman now charged with murder was identified by the victim's family and friends as his girlfriend.
Rebecca Ruiz, 28, is charged with murder 2nd. Julian Duman was 21, according to family members, who said that he had dated Ruiz for about one year.
Police in Dunkirk were to Lake Shore Drive East just after 10 p.m., where they found someone lying unresponsive outside. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Duman's cousin says he leaves behind a son who's about to turn one, the grandmother who raised him, his mother, sisters, and extended family and friends.
