Woman Caught Driving Around With License Plate Made of Cardboard

SPRINGVILLE, N.Y. -- A Sardinia woman was caught driving around with a fake license plate, according to state police.

Amanda Schweickert, 28, was pulled over during a traffic stop on North Street in the town of Springville Wednesday. Troopers say she had no front license plate and the back plate 'was obviously an imitation New York license plate.'

The plate was constructed of cardboard and painted to resemble a New York plate, police said.

Schweickert was charged with possession of a forged instrument, operating a vehicle with a suspended registration and other traffic violations. She was sent to the Erie County Holding Center on $400 bail.
