CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Tar Heel Nation is still reeling from the news that they will be without 13 of their players for parts of the 2018 season.

The University made it official on Monday announcing the suspensions of those players who committed secondary NCAA violations with the sale of up to 150 pairs of school-issued Jordans.

One of those 13 suspended was sophomore Chazz Surratt who was set to compete with Nathan Elliot for the starting position this year in camp. With Surratt out for the first four games of the season, that responsibility now falls fully in the hands of Elliot.

In three starts last season, Elliot threw for over 900 yards with ten touchdowns and five interceptions. Head coach Larry Fedora is fully confident in his ability to hold down the fort when the season kicks off on Sept. 1.

Fedora says, "Nathan's a pretty solid kid. His attitude, his work ethic, all of those things. He holds himself to a high standard and if he doesn't reach that standard on a daily basis, then he's disappointed in himself. But he's doing a great job of holding himself to that standard and then raising the level of the guys around him."
