ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — One person was shot Monday morning while Rocky Mount Police were executing a search warrant, according to a release.
Rocky Mount Police Department Special Operations Division’s Narcotics Unit and the Violent Crime Unit were at a home on Windsor Street early Monday morning when gunshots went off, police said.
A person was shot and is expected to recover, police said. No members of law enforcement were injured.
"As this incident is still under investigation, we are treating it as an officer-involved shooting," the release stated.
No additional details on the subject of the search warrant have been released.
The N.C. State Bureau of Investigation is investigating the shooting.
