PINEVILLE, N.C. -- Pineville Elementary School will be led by the Superintendent of the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System’s Southwest Learning Community beginning Monday after Principal Brian Doerer and Assistant Principal Kathryn Trotter were both suspended last week and placed on paid administrative leave, following allegations of inappropriate touching between two students.

A child's mother says she received a call from administrators on Wednesday, saying a boy had tackled and pulled down the pants of her third grade daughter.

Pineville police are investigating the situation.

CMS has yet to specify whether these suspensions are directly a result of the allegations by the student.

However, CMS says an interim principal will be appointed soon.
