We continue on with our streak of 90-degree days, where Wednesday will be making a run at an 11th day at or above 90 degrees in a row in Charlotte. Minimal opportunities for storms will persist over the next few days before storm chances increase into the upcoming weekend.

Wednesday will feature essentially the same weather we've seen all this week. Expect temperatures to warm into the upper 80s to low 90s with a small chance for an afternoon shower or rumble of thunder under an easterly upslope flow. Thursday and Friday will also feature daytime highs near 90 degrees for many across the Piedmont with additional isolated to scattered storms possible.

By the weekend, a cold front approaching from the north will begin sagging southward into the region Saturday into Sunday, allowing for a better and more widespread chance for afternoon storms. Temperatures should also be a tad cooler, though still a bit above average, with daytime highs remaining in the mid to upper 80s from Sunday into early next week.
