  • One couple even used the event as an opportunity to tie the knot
  • Organizers are expecting more than 80,000 people to attend

The Freedom Balloon Festival includes hot air balloon competitions, rides, food, and wine vendors. The festival is a fun zone for kids and even features live music.

One couple even used the event as an opportunity to tie the knot onboard one of the balloons.

Organizers of the event are putting cameras on balloons but they are being used for more than just capturing a pretty photo.

"We have two camera devices," says Project Uplift Chief Volunteer Officer Brian Hoyle. "One is a video camera, while the other is taking intermittent photos of the top level of our atmosphere. We're keeping our fingers crossed to get a top look at this tropical depression that's forming off the Yucatan peninsula."

The event will continue through Memorial Day. Organizers are expecting more than 80,000 people to attend.

If you're looking to ride in a hot air balloon, they may be a delayed due to weather conditions.
