SALISBURY, N.C. -- One man is dead following a shooting overnight at a Salisbury "adult arcade."

  • One man died after being shot at the Fishzilla "adult arcade" early Saturday morning.
  • The deceased has been identified as James Christopher Davis, 45.
  • Police have spoken with the person who shot him and no charges have been filed.

Police say they responded to a shooting call at the Fishzilla Arcade on E. Innes St at 1:18 Saturday morning. Upon arrival officers located James Christopher Davis, 45, of Albemarle, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Thomas Glenn, the victim's cousin, says Davis was an employee at the arcade and had only been there for a few months.

Davis was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at 3:23 a.m.

"I just woke up, to a bunch of RIP posts on Facebook, and that's like the weirdest way in the world to wake up, to find out something like that has happened to a family member," Glenn said

"Very loving man. He's the family protector, provider. Easy-going, he'd give you the shirt off his back to any stranger," Glenn said.

Police have spoken with the shooter, who has not yet been identified, and say charges have not been filed.
