RALEIGH -- The Raleigh mother who was arrested after multiple videos surfaced on social media earlier this year showing her forcing her infant to smoke something has confessed to giving the child marijuana. 

An affidavit released Monday shows that Brianna Ashanti Lofton, 20, confessed to recording her child smoking marijuana some time between Dec. 1, 2017 and Jan. 31, 2018.

The Raleigh Police department has previously thanked everyone who brought the video to their attention.

"We appreciate the public's help in this matter," said RPD Lt. Jason Hodge. "We welcome and encourage any assistance the public is willing to give us at all times."
