CHARLOTTE -- Bicycles are becoming a common sight in Charlotte.

The city is currently testing one-year dockless "bikeshare" pilot programs that allow residents to rent bicycles in the city for short periods of time.

Four companies, Ofo, Limebike, Mobike and Spin, are allowed to operate 500 bikes in Charlotte.

Operators are supposed to remove any bicycles parked in a location for more than seven consecutive days.

If they aren't moved the city may remove them.

The city is in the process of getting input from the community about the bikes. To complete a survey on the bicycles click here.

At the end of the year the city will evaluate the pilot program and detremine next steps.
