CHARLOTTE -- Temperatures are dangerously cold in the Charlotte region. That's a dangerous situation for those in the community who are homeless.

But there's lots of help across the state for anyone needing a warm place to lay their head.

The Urban Ministry Center's Room at the Inn started up again earlier this month.

They partner up with colleges and churches to provide a place to sleep plus meals. They also return folks to Uptown each morning.

Also, at the Salvation Army's Center of Hope, they're offering 360 beds, but can add more when they institute their overflow policy.

"When we do a no turn-away policy, we can serve an additional 40-50 people," said those with the Salvation Army.

More than 100 beds are available at Room at the Inn. Check in starts at 4:30 p.m.
