RALEIGH — Engaging the community through a beautiful ride through central North Carolina, the Victory Ride to Cure Cancer is working to bring about change.

Taking place Saturday, May 19 at NC State University’s Centennial Campus, the V Foundation for Cancer Research’s annual ride is raising awareness and funds for cancer research.

The ride includes 30, 60 and 100 mile ride options as well as a virtual ride and short family ride, that takes you through central North Carolina neighborhoods.  And in honor of the V Foundation’s 25th anniversary, all riders are asked to raise $250, to help benefit the Duke Cancer Institute, UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Wake Forest Baptist Health Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Spectrum News anchor Caroline Blair sat down with cancer survivor Ryan Switzer, who shares his story of how cycling helped save his life, and why he now continues to roll through the Victory Ride, to remember those who lost their battle, and raise awareness for still fighting for a cure.
