FORT WORTH, Texas — Boswell High School's Camille Williams was confident entering her senior season.

“From offseason to preseason, we worked, and worked, and prepared for this moment,” Williams said. “I knew we were gonna come this far.”

Williams and the rest of the Pioneers girl’s basketball team won the  Class 6A Division 2 Championship over Fort Bend Hightower to cap a 39-2 season. The state title is the first in the history of the Boswell HS program. 

“It’s amazing being around girls who are like sisters to you,” Williams said. “Just playing with them, playing with the coaches, it’s awesome.”

Williams was a do-it-all point guard for Boswell, leading her team on both ends of the court. She’ll continue her career in college at the University of Miami, where she’s part of a recruiting class that’s ranked in the top-15 nationally.

“I really didn’t want to go far [from home], but just walking around there the place is beautiful,” Williams said.

And Williams believes she can make an impact immediately with the Hurricanes.

“Just be a leader and show that I belong there. I earned my spot,” Williams said.
