TEXAS — As we near the end of early voting, the number of Texans showing up to cast their ballot is high.

As of Thursday morning, 7.4 million had voted, according to the latest data from the Texas Secretary of State.

At this point in 2020, 8.5 million had voted early but that election included six additional days of early voting and expanded mail-in options due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Texas has a record 18.6 million registered voters this year and is on pace to approach the record-breaking levels of the 2020 presidential election turnout.

So who does the early voting favor and can we gauge anything from the numbers?

On this week’s “Inside Out” segment, former Texas House Speaker Dennis Bonnen, R-Angleton, and former state Rep. Mark Strama, D-Austin, discuss the numbers and make their predictions for election night.
