Rep. Joaquin Castro, D-San Antonio, reposted several posts about the night, one being a clip of Walz on the debate stage praising Harris for "bringing us a new way forward." The other was a link to a Politico story on Vance's refusal to say that former President Donald Trump lost the 2020 election, which Walz called "a damning non-answer."

Then, in his own words, Castro denounced Vance and Project 2025.

Rep. Chip Roy, R-Austin, was supportive of Vance, saying he did a "great job" and had a "powerful contrast" on issues including cost of living and border security.

Sen. Sarah Eckhardt, D-Austin, also made a statement through reposts by sharing a clip posted by the Travis County Democratic Party of Walz asking Vance if Trump lost the 2020 election, to which Vance replied, "Tim, I'm focused on the future."

Rep. Troy Nehls, R-Richmond, publicized his support for Vance and called Walz "radical" in a separate post.

Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo was in Tucson, Ariz., watching the debate live on Tuesday with Harris-Walz supporters.

Houston Democrat-turned-Republican Rep. Shawn Thierry reposted a post from @KyleSeraphin saying Walz came across "nervous and weird."

"I thought he came across nervous and weird. Calling yourself a knuckle head while auditioning for the second highest office in the land is a knuckle head move," the post read.

Republican Sen. Ted Cruz said Trump was the "clear winner" of the night and praised Vance's performance while criticizing Harris.
