An altercation began between two groups during a concert at the event and someone started shooting, Round Rock Police Chief Allen Banks said during a news conference at the scene.

The two victims who were pronounced dead at the scene were not involved in the argument, Allen said. On Monday, the Round Rock Police Department identified the people who were killed as 33-year-old Lyndsey Vicknair, from Manor, and 54-year-old Aa Duke, from Pflugerville.

The shooting occurred near a vendor area away from the stage set up for the concert, Allen said.

Police officers and fire department personnel present at the event immediately began providing emergency medical care to the wounded, who were then taken to hospitals, Allen said.

Fourteen people were taken to local trauma facilities, all with potentially serious injuries.

Police said Sunday they did not have a suspect in custody.. However, police on Sunday provided a suspect description. He is said to be a Black man with a thin build. He's around 19 or 20 years old, has dreadlocks and is about 5 feet, 7 inches tall.

“It breaks your heart for a family that was coming out to enjoy their evening and now their life is forever changed as a result of somebody who could care less about somebody else's life,” Allen said.

The mayor of Round Rock released a statement about the shooting in a post on X.

"I know Round Rock residents are devastated as they wake up to the terrible news of last night's tragic events. To the families who are mourning the loss of loved ones, please know that our entire community mourns with you," Mayor Craig Morgan said. "We will not let this incident define us, nor will we let fear take hold."
