AUSTIN, Texas — A suspect was shot and killed by police and three people are injured after a man attempted to enter an East 6th Street bar with a gun late Saturday night, Austin police said.
According to interim Police Chief Robin Henderson, officers responded to a call about a man with a gun about 11:52 p.m.
When officers arrived, an employee identified the man with the gun. When officers approached him, he pulled his gun out and pointed it at the officers and bystanders, Henderson said.
Three officers fired on the man. He was later pronounced dead. No officers were injured.
Three other people were injured, however, one of them critically. The other two sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The shooting was captured on body-worn cameras, and the footage will be released within 10 days.
The incident is under investigation.
