PEARLAND, Texas — According to the Pearland Police Department, multiple people were reportedly shot at Cole’s Flea Market in Pearland at approximately 5:34 p.m Sunday.

Authorities at the scene confirmed that there were five victims, all of whom were sent to nearby hospitals.

Two children and three other people were shot at the flea market and one child later died at a hospital, police said.

The shooting happened after an argument between two people who did not know each other, Officer Chad Rogers said in an evening news conference. The two people exchanged gunfire inside the market, police said.

One suspect was still at large, police said. They didn't immediately give details on the second shooter.

Authorities say that this is still an active scene and the public should avoid the area.
