EL PASO, Texas — As part of the company's Community Assist initiative, Spectrum partnered with Project Arriba, an El Paso nonprofit that provides resources for job training, to help rebuild and repair a local community center.
On Oct. 7, over 60 volunteers visited and made repairs to the facility, which provides assistance to economically disadvantaged Texans, along with fellow nonprofit Rebuild Together.
Spectrum made a donation of $50,000 to help provide technology to help with the effort.
“We have a real issue with digital literacy, with connectivity,” said El Paso Mayor Pro Tem Alexsandra Annello. “And so being able to partner that workforce engagement, that education engagement with a corporation like Spectrum, who has just stepped up to say ‘we recognize that there are these gaps, and we want to help’ are extremely important, and I’m very grateful to be a part of it.”
At the event, Spectrum also unveiled a new training workshop.
