LIBERTY HILL, Texas – Liberty Hill High School senior Memphis Craig started a new sport this year.

“This was our first year that Liberty had a lacrosse team,” Craig said.

If you’re not familiar with lacrosse, Craig has an easy way to explain it.

“It’s exactly like soccer, but with sticks,” she said. “The rules are almost the exact same.”

She says she fell in love with the sport because of its camaraderie.

“There’s a lot of communication in it,” said Craig. "It’s not like a sport that you’re doing on your own. I love the team part of it."

Looking back on her journey, she’s proud of her athletic choices. Craig says she’s played three different sports throughout her high school career.

“I’ve tried everything I wanted to try throughout high school,” said Craig. “And I’ve had fun with each sport”.

After high school, Memphis is headed to the University of Nebraska where she plans to major in architecture.
