SAN ANTONIO — As part of our Community Assist initiative, Spectrum partnered with Restore Education, a nonprofit that provides educational assistance to those who need it, to provide money and resources to help with continuing community educational efforts.
On Nov. 19, more than 50 Spectrum volunteers visited and made repairs to the facility, assembled desks, chairs, tablets and more. Additionally, Spectrum made a donation of $50,000 to help the nearly 2,200 students that Restore Education aids on a yearly basis.
Describing the need for Restore’s GED and ESL programs, as well as 10 different job training programs, which help people get entry level jobs, CEO Kelly Rose said, “A lot of our students have lost connection with traditional school, because of issues with poverty, family crisis, maybe undiagnosed learning disabilities.”
“This will provide a really safe and comfortable space for our students to learn, where they can feel valued and focus on their goals, and not be distracted by feeling like they don’t have the materials they need to succeed,” she added.
