JARRELL, Texas —  The National Weather Service, during investigation in Williamson County on Tuesday, confirmed that a tornado touched down near Jarrell on Monday night.  As of 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, the tornado had not been rated. 

In addition to overturned vehicles along Interstate 35, Williamson County ESD 5 fire station in Jarrell sustained a great deal of damage, including blown-out windows and doors.

No major injuries were reported.

Several 28-wheelers were overturned in Monday night’s storm near I-35’s exit 271, three miles south of Jarrell.

Some homes and businesses were damaged by high winds. Crews were still working to restore power around parts of Jarrell Tuesday morning.
