PLANO, Texas — A woman is facing charges after a viral video shows the woman verbally berating a group of Indian-American women Wednesday.

The incident happened outside of a Sixty Vines restaurant in Plano. In the video, the woman can be heard yelling several racially charged statements at the group, including, “Go back to India,” and “We don’t want you here.”

When the Plano officers arrived, the group of women told the officers they were assaulted. The woman has been identified Esmeralda Upton of Plano, Texas. Upton has been arrested and charged with assault bodily injury and terroristic threats, according to a press release.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing and police said they’re investigating the incident as a hate crime.
