While Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Democrat Beto O’Rourke look like locks to win their respective primaries, the same is not true in the race for attorney general.
Early voting for the primary ends Friday and Election Day is Tuesday, March 1.
Recent polling suggests that while Republican incumbent Attorney General Ken Paxton maintains a lead, it may not be enough for him to avoid a runoff.

Enter his Republican challengers, Rep. Louie Gohmert, former Texas Supreme Court justice Eva Guzman and Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush. The three primary challengers took part in a debate Thursday night.
Paxton declined an invitation to participate.
Things got heated, the candidates attacked each other’s records, but the three did cover a broad range of topics.
