The politicians he endorsed took to the podium in hopes of gaining more votes from his supporters. Conroe has one of the highest percentages of Trump supporters in the country.

Micki Larson-Olson drove seven hours from Abilene, TX to come to this rally.

She’s been camped out at a the Montgomery County Fairgrounds since Friday morning.

“I support my real president and so I will go wherever he is,” she said. While the event is an effort to gain support for republican candidates in the primaries, Larson-Olson is just here for Trump.

“I’m not supporting any of them!” she said.

Montgomery County is the reddest in the state. And it’s safe to say everyone at the rally wants to see the former president run in 2024.

Many residents were flying Trump flags at Rick Blummer’s gated community Saturday.

He was not one of them.

“It’s basically all for show,” he said.

The Independent moved here from Germany with his partner eight years ago and says it’s been uncomfortable seeing how many people support someone who “spreads lies and hate.”

“I find this to be quite an unsettling development in the society of the United States of America,” he said.

The Montgomery resident wasn’t happy to find out from the Property Owner Assocation that Trump would be attending a fundraiser at a neighbor’s house Saturday. He says he isn’t alone.

“It came as a surprise to most people that we spoke with,” he said.

Recent polls show 56% of Republicans want Trump to run for president in 2024. Election results from 2020 also show a six point increase in Democratic votes.

Trump and his supporters still falsely maintain he won the 2020 election, despite no evidence of election fraud.

At the event, he continued to rile up the crowd by calling the press, “fake news,” making fun of President Joe Biden and calling immigrants “illegal aliens” and COVID the "China virus."

“But the media, they are the enemy of the people!” Larson-Olson yelled. “You are the enemy of the people!”

Trump is currently under investigation in several states for fraud, election tampering and for his role in the Jan. 6 insurrection.
