TEXAS — Clint Sherman has loved music since he was a kid, but it was at 15-years-old when music got his full focus.

“I broke my ankle and I was real into sports at the time. I stopped playing sports, because I had to. While I sat down long enough to do something else, I taught myself guitar and started playing and singing. That was the same time that I became a Christian so those two things [faith and music] for me have kind of been interwoven.”

Shortly after Sherman started leading worship at a church, he fell in love with performing.

Fast forward to 2020, he auditioned for "The Voice" at an open call in Baltimore. It took three auditions before it fully panned out.

“I would say that it was just all in God’s timing,” Sherman said. “The first two times it wasn’t the right time. And so, this time it was and it all worked out well, so yeah.”

He was on Blake Shelton’s team and though his time on the show ended, the experience was well worth it.

“It was really encouraging to hear someone who’s been in the industry for such a long time affirm your voice and tell you 'I really like what you’re doing. I see a lot of your potential there.'”

Sherman was also thankful for the relationships he formed while on the show.

“I made good friends and peers who are also striving to have success. The people are what’s important and that’s the case in every scenario,” Sherman said.

His goal now is to encourage and bring light to the world through music. You can follow Sherman and his endeavors on Instagram @clintshermanmusic.
