CALDWELL COUNTY, Texas - Kent Landry is holding onto his faith and prayers as the search continues for his son, Jason Landry. The 21-year-old Texas State student went missing 10 months ago in Caldwell County.

Landry’s car was found crashed and abandoned in the town of Luling, about 30 miles outside of San Marcos.

“We’ve spent over 300 days searching for him, and it’s amazing to think that we started in December and here we are in October,” Kent Landry said.

Earlier this month, crews with Texas Search and Rescue conducted another massive search in the area, using the help of artificial intelligence to pinpoint search efforts.

“There’s 86 very clearly defined sites that they are looking at very meticulously based on all of the work that they’ve been doing,” said Landry.

Shawn Hohnsereiter with Texas Search and Rescue tell us they’ve been working for months, collecting new data. Software has brought them back to Luling, once again.

“We’re running software looking for specific color patterns and sizes. A lot of what we are able to look at is bones and remains but without something in scale we are not able to identify if we are looking at animal remains. We need to put personnel on the ground and search those areas thoroughly,” said Hohnsereiter

Laundry says he’ll never give up on finding his son. He went on to say he’s confident that he’ll be reunited with Jason, one day.

“Jason knows the lord, and if it’s the worst and he’s passed away, he’s in Heaven, which is better than here, and we’ll still see him. It’s just that he got to Heaven before me,” he said.
