BEXAR COUNTY, Texas -- The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is dealing with an outbreak of bed bugs inside of the jail.
Authorities tell us 64 inmates were moved to different sleeping quarters to treat mattresses infested with the flesh-eating parasite.
The inmate removal and bug treatment began Tuesday. Jail authorities said only 30 inmates were affected. The other 34 inmates were moved as a precaution.
The mattress were treated by the contract pest control vendor and were sealed in bags and discarded. As a precaution, other units in the Jail Annex are being inspected.
