PFLUGERVILLE, Texas -- Families had a chance to meet their local law enforcement officials at Pflugerville's Public Safety Day.

It served as a kickoff event to the upcoming National Night out. Pflugerville police and other law enforcement officials were there to help promote the day.

National Night out is an annual community-building campaign. Millions of neighbors take part in it across thousands of communities across the country.

The state of Texas celebrates the event on Tuesday.
