SAN ANTONIO -- A group made up entirely of women is once again handing out money to help out local organizations.

Saturday morning, the group announced the 10 finalists who are in the running for some of that money.

The group, called Impact San Antonio is made up of women who pay $1,000 in membership dues that all get awarded as grants to area nonprofits. For the first time, Impact San Antonio has reached 550 memberships. They plan to award five $100,000 grants this year.

"It's amazing. It's a phenomenal thing to have women who are empowered through their collective giving to pull their resources together and make such high impact grants,” said Lora Watts, president of Impact San Antonio.

The five finalists who do not receive the $100,000 grants  do receive $10,000 to complete their projects. Since 2004, Impact San Antonio has awarded nearly $3 million to nonprofits.
