AUSTIN, Texas -- Travis County Deputies are on the look-out for an escaped suspect on the city’s Northside.

A sheriff’s department spokesperson said the man was able to slip away from deputies at St. David’s North Austin Medical Center shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Authorities said the suspect was arrested during a traffic stop for unlawful use of a motor vehicle. Once in custody, he reportedly experienced a medical incident and was taken to be checked out at the medical center. Police said that’s where he managed to get away and take off.

The suspect is not considered to be a danger to the public.
