SAN ANTONIO – A fire broke out overnight on a Union Pacific train in San Antonio.
The fire was ignited in the cab of the train engine around 2:40 a.m. at Weidner and Leonhardt. Engineers were able to put out the fire with an extinguisher.
Arriving firefighters were able to douse the remaining smoldering flames.
Union Pacific officials will assess the damage to the train and replace the engine.
The San Antonio Fire Department and San Antonio police are investigating.
