SAN ANTONIO – H-E-B is honoring the late Texas-born singer Selena with a limited-edition bag.
The reusable bags were created by the nonprofit The Selena Foundation. They will be sold for $2 at H-E-B stores and online.
“At H-E-B, we’re excited to offer our customers this commemorative Selena bag, which is a tribute to such a beloved personality whose music continues to inspire people everywhere,” said Cory Basso, H-E-B group vice president of Marketing and Advertising.
The bags are made of 100 percent recycled materials.
H-E-B worked alongside Selena’s sister, Suzette Quintanilla, to create a chic tote bag with iconic images of the “Queen of Cumbia.”
The Texas-based grocery store chain will also donate $25,000 to The Selena Foundation to give to the Boys & Girls Club of the Coastal Bend.
Starting on Friday, March 2, the bags will go on sale at H-E-B at 9 a.m. and online at noon.
Bag sales will be limited to two per person.
