AUSTIN, Texas – A 63-year-old woman didn’t have a pulse when Austin police officer Hittner saved her life.

Officer Hittner gave the woman CPR for an extended period of time to bring back her pulse. He did not stop life-saving measures until the woman’s heart was once again beating.

The Austin Police Department honored officer Hittner with a life-saving medal.

“Couldn’t be more proud of Austin officers,” tweeted officer Jason Dusterhoft.
