Emily Borchard is a meteorologist for Spectrum News 1, Texas.
Born and raised in Texas, Emily has always been interested in the volatility of Texas weather and the reasoning behind how quickly storms develop and change. From Corpus Christi, Texas with Mexican-American roots, Emily is proud to call herself a "Texican."
She graduated from Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology and Communications. After her graduation, Emily began her career in 2010 reporting for KZTV in Corpus Christi. In 2011, she worked as a morning meteorologist for KEWS-TV where she delivered and produced weather forecasts for the weekday morning broadcasts. She covered Midland-Odessa at KWES-TV during the hottest summer in Texas history.
Emily joined the Spectrum News weather team in May 2014 as a meteorologist and traffic anchor. She successfully assisted with Spectrum News’ launch in San Antonio, bringing her analysis of weather maps, graphic production, and weather forecasts to even more communities across the state.
In her free time, Emily enjoys chasing Texas sunsets with her family, traveling and birdwatching, and spending time outside with her peekapoo, Bella.
