Hispanics are the majority across the Lone Star State, and one of the areas where many Texas Latinos are thriving is South Texas. To get some insight on their “cultura” and the unique opportunities Latinos are creating there, State Representative Erin Gámez – from District 38 – joins us.

When it comes to Latino population growth, South Texas is not alone. Census data shows between 2022 and 2023, our state reported an increase of more than 200-thousand Hispanics.
