While Juneteenth honors an important part of our country's African American history, much of our state's black experience is still unfolding. In North Texas, for example, the city of Dallas installed a new memorial to highlight their communities’ past race struggles. Our Justin Honore has that story.

Our Capital City is home to one of Austin’s oldest historic residences which includes this city’s only intact slave quarters. The Neill-Cochran House Museum is located minutes away from the U.T. campus. Dr. Rowena Dash and Dr. Tara Dudley are part of the team preserving this important piece of Texas history.
