1. Investigation in motion for Texas A&M student who apparently fell to her death

A Texas A&M student was reported to have died on campus from an apparent fall Sunday. Officials say the student was found dead in the courtyard of Dunn Hall. According to Texas A&M police, the student looked to have fallen from a third-floor balcony.

2. House speaker vote: Jim Jordan loses first ballot as 20 Republicans break ranks

For the second time this year, the House of Representatives met to nominate a speaker to lead the lower chamber of Congress forward. 

And for the second time this year, things did not go smoothly, with the Republican nominee for the Speaker of the House failing to secure the necessary votes.

3. U.S. representative presses FAA to respond to air traffic safety concerns at Austin airport after near miss incidents

U.S. Rep. Lloyd Doggett, D-Austin, called on the Federal Aviation Administration to deal with the lapses in air traffic control safety at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA) on Monday. At least three near miss incidents between aircraft were reported this year, which to Doggett is “dangerous and unacceptable."

4. Mourners remember Muslim boy killed as kind and energetic

Crowds of mourners in a heavily Palestinian Chicago suburb paid respects Monday to a 6-year-old Muslim boy killed in an alleged hate crime. Wadea Al-Fayoume, who had recently had a birthday, died Saturday after being stabbed dozens of times in a brutal attack. Authorities said the family's landlord, Joseph Czuba, was upset over the Israel-Hamas war and attacked them after the boy's mother proposed they "pray for peace."
