Dry high pressure has settled into South Texas, bringing partly cloudy skies and cool temperatures to the region. For Tuesday, cool air will hold with light north winds. Look for partly cloudy skies with temperatures topping out near 60.

Overnight partly cloudy skies continue, allowing temperatures to fall into the low 40s with a few rural areas seeing upper 30s to start Wednesday. Highs Wednesday continue in the low 60s.

Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning, south winds begin to usher deeper moisture into Texas. Clouds will increase Wednesday night with slightly warmer temperatures overnight.

Thursday looks to be cloudy and a little rainy with sprinkles in the morning and showers in the afternoon. Highs rise to the middle 60s.

By Friday, a strong cold front and potent upper level disturbance collide over Texas. There is a potential for strong and severe storms as well as some heavy rain. Right now, the primary concern is heavy rain with two to four inches area wide and higher isolated amounts. We’ll have a better handle on the timing and details as the system gets closer.

More details are in the Seven Day Forecast.
